The game of Blackjack is not daunting as you might think it is. However, there are some mistakes you need to avoid. Here we touch up on a few basic ones.

One of the big mistakes players make is to get too passive with hands, especially at 14, 15, or 16 regardless of what the dealer shows. They become afraid that they’ll burst and thus don’t bother to make an effort. Instead of giving up soon, give it a shot and see what happens next.

Second mistake is when players get aggressive with their hands. For instance, a player has a soft 14 versus 9 and wants to double down so as to get more money out of the game. This doesn’t always work out well because in any hand where you can’t have at least a 20, it is not a good hand to double down.

Another mistake, which falls under the aggressive play, is doing moves like splitting Tens or splitting too often. Most times, you lose more on it.
