This month is proving to be a big one when it comes to poker. There are now a wide array of legal and licenced casinos in Pennsylvania, which you can find in a guide on SportsTalkPhilly. An impressive number of these casinos in the state offer poker tournaments, with a variety of different styles catering to various player levels and offering some of the biggest prizes.
Each month, these tournaments change, but this month is particularly impressive. Let’s take a look at the different poker tournaments on offer in PA in November.
Continuous fun at Live! Casino Philadelphia
Live! Casino kicked things off this month with one of its regular poker tournaments. The first tournament ran from November 1st to 5th. It had a $360 buy-in and a $150,000 guaranteed prize.
However, the big event is the $600 Live! Cup 2, which takes place from the 15th to 19th of November. This No Limit Hold-Em tournament has six flights each with a $600 buy-in and players are competing for the top prize of $1 million.
For daily events, there are different options typically kicking off in the evening. Most of these have smaller prizes with $3000 to $6000 guaranteed depending on the event.
New manager brings new tournaments
Rivers Casino Philadelphia is also offering a wealth of daily tournaments in addition to an Ultra Rush event. And this is all down to a new manager. For Thanksgiving weekend, there’s a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool with a $1200 buy-in, all of which kicks off on 26th November.
In the daily tournaments, there’s a lot on the cards. All through the week, bar Tuesdays and Thursdays, games are available up to $5000 guaranteed. Saturdays offer a beginners’ tournament at 10.15 am as well.
Double events at Parx Casino
This casino keeps up with its current trend, offering two poker tournaments each week this month. These games aren’t huge yet, but typically draw a response of 100 players or so. These smaller tournaments take place at 7.15 pm every Monday with a $200 buy-in event. Then there’s the 11.15 am event on Fridays with $340 buy-in on NL Hold’em.
Biggest Bad Beat Jackpot in the States
For the top action in Pittsburgh, the Rivers Casino Pittsburgh is the place to be. For a start, players can enjoy ongoing poker action in the Pittsburgh Hammer tournament, which is the perfect option running from the 14th to 19th of November. There are two Day 1 flights daily from November 14th to 18th with a buy-in of $260. There is also the option of a direct buy-in to the second day — it’s $1100.
Rivers Pittsburgh is also aiming to beat its own Bad Beat Jackpot record. This last hit in August 2022, when a player with a Royal Flush beat another with four aces. The jackpot stood at $1.2 million! A new Bad Beat jackpot was immediately launched and as of November 1st stood at $854,802.
Finally, there are daily one-day tournaments too varying in cost and prize monies.
This is far from everything though, as more casinos throughout the state also have various offerings.
